Music Review: 'Chance Pe Dance'

The album contains seven originals and two remix versions.

It opens with "Pe pe pepein" that starts with typical wedding music in the background. A Western song with rap by Hard Kaur and vocals by Master Saleem and Neeraj Sridhar, "Pe pe pepein" has a strong Punjabi flavour. It's a fast-paced song and slowly grows on you.

The song also has a remix version that adds more beats and makes it a perfect dance number.

Next is "Pump it up" with Vishal Dadlani behind the mike. The song has a punch and starts with a bang. It's a full-on dance number with a mix of dhol and electronic guitaring.

This track too has a remix version which is faster and includes more orchestration.

Up next is a slow love ballad "Pal mein hi", which is beautifully crooned by Soham Chakrabarthy and Shreya Ghoshal. The song brings in a tranquillising effect. It's a sweet and pleasing romantic number that touches a chord with the listener.

Then we have another fast track in the guise of "One more dance". The song sung by Kunal Ganjawala is not that impressive. The song has a techno feel and is meant for the dance floor; it, however, fails to create an impact and falls flat.

It is followed by "Yaba Daba Yahoo". Sung by Kunal Ganjawala, it takes the dance flavour of the album further. A fun number, it has a heavy dose of English lyrics.

"Rishta hai mera", sung by Shaan and Tulsi Kumar, changes the mood of the album. It's a soft, smooth song. An inspirational number, "Rishta hai mera" is a melodious composition and generates interest.

Finally there is "Just do it". High on electronic arrangements, the song has been crooned by Amit Kumar and director Ken Ghosh has composed it. It has influences of hip hop and is a dance number yet gain.

On the whole, if you want to dance away to glory, then 'Chance Pe Dance' is the album you are looking for.

Karan Johar:'My Name Is Khan' not About Terrorism

'My Name is Khan' has nothing to do with terrorism. It is not a terrorism-based plot at all. It is a humanitarian tale about love and sacrifice," Karan told reporters after unveiling the first look of 'My Name Is Khan' at JW Marriot Hotel.

The film's story revolves around Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh) who suffers from Asperger syndrome, a form of autism. Rizwan falls in love with a single mother Mandira (Kajol) who lives in San Francisco. Rizwan is detained by authorities at Los Angeles International Airport, mistaking his disability for "suspicious" behaviour.

"It is about overcoming a phase, it is about triumph of the human spirit," said Karan.

Shah Rukh and Karan's last outing together 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' (2006) couldn't spell magic at the box office.

But the superstar seems to be pretty impressed with Karan's work in 'My Name Is Khan' and said that the film is the ultimate evolution of the director's work.

"I have worked with Karan in his first film ('Kuch Kuch Hota Hai') and has been with him all through his journey. I think 'My Name Is Khan' is his ultimate evolution," said Shah Rukh.

"In this film, the way Karan has touched upon the scenes and sequences, it is very different from his all previous films," he added.

The film is slated to release Feb 12 next year.

Movie Review:Rocket Singh

Two years after delivering a hit in 'Chak De India', Shimit Amin returns, this time with business as the field of play. Yet again, he delivers a product with finesse.

Ranbir Kapoor is in that phase of his innings right now, where he can do no wrong. He has that uncanny knack of 'becoming' the character, body language and all... He is such a joy to watch.

Ranbir is Harpeet Singh Bedi, a youngster who just manages to scrape through his B.Com exams and one who is not interested in CAT. He wants to work as a salesman. He lands a job as a trainee at AYS Computers and within a few days is blasted for being a 'Mahatma in the jungle.' He complains against an employee of a firm who buys bulk orders from AYS because he is asking for his 'Cut'.

AYS boss and their sales manager see red. He is insulted and asked to make just 'cold calls' from his desk. Things take a turn for the worse when he is humiliated further by his boss. This, when all he wanted to do was tell his boss that he was using his office space to start his own company, Rocket Sales Corp.

Saif- Kareena are LoveBirds

Chote Nawab Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor set up their own darbar in Delhi where they were shooting for Karan Johar’s film tentatively titled Jihaad that’s directed by Renzil D’Silva. On Sunday morning, the love birds brought the busy traffic on Rajpath to a grinding halt as they got on to the street to shoot a scene. The sequence is one in which Bebo tries to hail a taxi but is unsuccessful, so Saif steps in to help her. The actress gets into the cab but leaves Saif stranded on the road. Later on, of course, they drove off together!
