The 2010 Boilermaker is now in the history books and it was a brilliant one at that with numerous records broken. The 13,089 runners registered to be part of the 15 Road Race, making it this major Boilermaker in history. 11,524 runners end the race, which is again record-setting.
The winner of the women’s division Edna Kiplagat of Kenya in the Boilermaker 15K, setting a latest course record time. Kiplagat’s time was 47:56, beating the previous record which was set in 2001 by Catherine Ndereba.
The men’s winner Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia in the 2010 Boilermaker 15K Road Race on Sunday and set a latest course record in the process. Desisa ran the course in 42 minutes, 46 seconds. He broke the previous record by a mere 8 seconds.
