Yesterday’s night, City of Coppell Mayor Jayne Peters and her teenage daughter were found shot to death at their home, in what crime investigators believe to be a murder-suicide case. Both were found with fatal gunshot wounds in their heads.
The death of Jayne Peters, 55, and Corrine Peters, 19, has shocked the Coppell community, especially as people began to ask what could have lead to a suicide-murder situation. Murder attorneys may be working on the case.
“At this point all we can really say is the investigation is just not complete,” said officer Logan to the press, “There are a lot of things we need to look at.”
Jayne Peters had been Mayor of Coppell since 2009. In 2008 her husband died after receiving cancer treatment options.
